STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: Kashmiri migrant employees, who were provided Government jobs in the Valley under Prime Minister’s Package for migrants, on Saturday staged a protest demanding early completion of residential accommodations for them. A number of Kashmiri Pandit employees, led by Chairman, All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC), Vinod Pandit assembled at Pratap Park here to stage protest in support of their demands. The employees were demanding basic amenities like independent concrete accommodations for all 6000 employees engaged under PM’s package in stipulated time frame. One of the protesting employees said that they were employed nine years back but the Government failed to provide them proper accommodation till date. Vinod Pandit demanded that construction of residential quarters should be done on fast-track basis preferably in double shifts. He lamented that the concerned Advisor for Relief and Rehabilitation has not even visited transit accommodations in Valley till date. Alleging that some officials are misguiding Governor on accommodation issue, he said that some elements in State’s administration are hell bent to derail ‘return and rehabilitation’ process of Kashmiri migrants back to valley. Vinod Pandit appealed to the Governor to personally intervene into the matter and issue necessary instructions for resolving the same failing which the APMCC would intensify its protest across the State.
