Dear Editor, Two interesting news are doing rounds. First, the British MP Bob Blackman has asserted that Kashmir is integral part of India. He has given a call to Pakistan to vacate the Pak Occupied Kashmir. Secondly, the Supreme Court has warned to the media that all journalists and columnists should respect the national interest and national security. Separatists should not be supported for their secessionist activities. When national interest demands, the opposition parties should learn to join the hands with government and demonstrate solidarity with it so that the enemy countries cannot take undue advantage of the disunited politicians. Government includes not just ruling party but the opposition parties also. Ruling parties and opposition parties are like two eyes of government. Opposition parties are entitled to put the government on notice whenever wrong steps are taken. At the same time they are duty-bound to support the government whenever steps to protect the national interests are taken. Opposition parties are neither learnt nor unlearnt. They must eschew the practice of criticism for the sake of criticism. Obstruction in the implementation of pro-national schemes keeps the opposition parties in poor light. It will only create bad impression in the mind of citizens guaranteeing the opposition status for them for some more time. K.V. Seetharamaiah, Via-e-mail.
