JAMMU: Continuing their winning streak in the 43rd Junior National Volleyball Championship, J and K boys team defeated Manipur in its second match played at Paravoor Ernakulam in Kerala.
After defeating Jharkhand in opening match, J and K boys team defeated Manipur in second match by straight 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-20) sets.
In the second match, J and K team players namely Sahil Sharma, Sourab Sharma, Mohd Latif Bhat and Farhat Jahangir displayed their magnificent skills and dominated the proceedings to achieve victory.
J and K boys team will play next match tomorrow against Chhattisgarh at the group stage.
Meanwhile, in girls section, J&K team lost to Gujarat in its second match by straight 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-20) sets. Anant, Bhavya, Meena Devi and Simran Bhagat played well but failed to save J&K from defeat.
State girls team has been placed in Pool-A and will play next matches against Chandigarh and Madhya Pradesh.
The teams are being accompanied by Ravinder Kour, Prince Mehta, Mohd Tariq, Azhar Aziz, Ajay Kumar and Rahul Kumar as officials.
President Volleyball Association of J and K, Sidharth Daluja and other office bearers sending good wishes to J and K team, Manager and Coach for brilliant performance in two matches wished best of luck for future games.
