STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Raising his voice in the Parliament at New Delhi, the Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Jammu Poonch Parliamentary constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma demanded widening of Akhnoor-Rajouri road upto Poonch, flyovers at Samba, Vijaypur, Sainik Colony besides waiving-off toll-tax at Ban Toll Plaza. Welcoming construction of Jammu-Akhnoor four lane-road, Jugal sought widening of the road upto Poonch. He further said that there is extreme need to construct flyovers and Road Over Bridges (ROBs) at various locations in Jammu and Samba Districts. He demanded that toll-tax at Ban Toll National Highway should also be waived-off for welfare of commuters. Raising plight of farmers in the constituency, Jugal said that construction work is going on at Ring Road project but farmers are not satisfied with the compensation provided for acquired lands. The Member Parliament He further demanded that adequate and satisfactory compensation should be provided to all farmers, whose lands have been acquired for the project. Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways assured the Member of Parliament that he will take up all the highlighted issues and development works on priority. He further assured that the matter of toll-tax would also be discussed soon and appropriate action would be taken in this regard.
