JAMMU: Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua on Friday celebrated International Day for Disaster Reduction by organising a seminar to make students aware of the precautions which can be taken during any man-made and natural calamity.
School Teacher, Palki delivered a lecture on disaster reduction.
“The International Day for Disaster Reduction encourages every citizen and government to take part in building more disaster resident communities and nations,” she said.
“The day held annually on 13th October, celebrates the way that people and communities around the world reduce their exposure to disaster and raise awareness about the risks that they face. This includes disaster prevention, mitigation and preparedness,” she said.
Co-ordinator, Pardeep Kour also expressed her views.
Principal Shuchita Gupta motivated students about deforestation and growing more trees.
Co-ordinators Shruti Sharma, Smriti Sharma and teachers were also present.
