JAMMU: Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS) Jammu, in a special drive to educate the community, on Wednesday started a parental literacy programme for the mothers of its wards.
The aim of the programme was to enhance the communication, language, literacy, personal and social skills of the mothers under the theme ‘Finding the Self’. Dr. Amandeep Kour and Shashi Sharma inaugurated the programme.
Weekly classes will be held for the parents to enhance their own potential and personality development. They appreciated the school and the Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson of the School, Rohini Aima, in taking this unique initiative and organising such a programme.
Principal said, “It is our responsibility to join hands and explore the resources to improve the well-being of the community. The school’s focus on providing integral education to mothers is vital. It will provide them avenues for pursuing excellence in their area of hidden talent including visual and performing arts, sports and games, painting, drama, quizzes, etc.”
