STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Thursday seized 20 Kg substandard meat and recovered a fine amounting to Rs 6,000 from meat sellers selling unstamped meat. Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr Zaffar Iqbal along with other team members conducted inspection drive in different areas of Jammu City to ensure sale of wholesome and good quality meat and meat byproducts to consumers. The drive was conducted in Bathindi, Narwal, Gandhi Nagar, Gangyal, Channi, B C Road and CPO Chowk areas. The JMC Municipal Veterinary Officer has appealed to all shopkeepers, dealing with meat/chicken products, to maintain hygienic environment in and around their shops besides providing good quality meat to consumers. He further said that such surprise drives will continue in near future as well to ensure that consumers get healthy, wholesome and disease-free meat at any cost.
