JAMMU: Standing in the support of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers, Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) on Sunday condemned the decisions of the education authorities for holding screening test of the ReT teachers in the State.
Talking to media persons here, State General Secretary of the Forum, Ganesh Khajuria said “This new tool of harassment will multiply the suffering of the teachers who have already been put to many inconveniences.”
“The ReT teachers have played a great role in the opening of the closed schools in the far-flung areas, thus raising literacy rate and increasing enrollment and minimizing dropouts,” he asserted.
Highlighting the others genuine issues of the teachers’ fraternity, Khajuria said that the teachers/masters who are working under SSA /RMSA schemes are without salaries for so many months.
“The tall claims made by the government remained only in the papers thereby multiplying the sufferings of these teachers,” he said and demanded to release their salary grants without any further delay.
The forum also demanded release of mid-day meal grants, cancellation of adjustment of Masters who adjusted on pick and choose basis, adjustment of promoted Masters from the Jammu, Kathua and Samba to their home districts etc.
Others present in the press conference were Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Darshan Sharma, S.S Toofani, Surinder Choudhary, Vinay Sharma, Dharampaul, Bupesh Choudhary, Shankar Singh, Devinder Singh, Subash Singh, Kuldeep Raj, Rajesh Sharma, Raj Kumar Gandotra, Subash Chander, Rajinder Singh and Haquiqat Singh.
