STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) a legendry registered organization has welcomed the abrogation of Article 370 and termed it a historical decision and a very bold move by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The JKSAC held a meeting under its president Gurdev Singh in which the participants appreciated eroding Art 370 and thereupon bringing Jammu and Kashmir under the direct control of the Centre and handling the sensitive affairs which remained languishing for the last more than seven decades at center level. Gurdev Singh said that with the Abrogation of Art 370 the Prime Minister and Home Minister have not only settled the 73 years old Kashmir issue on our soil, silencing the slogans of autonomy, self rule and Azadi but have initiated ‘Mission PoK’ to get it vacated from its grabber. Gurdev Singh while highly appreciating also the judicious capability of the Prime minister Narender Modi who on finding the miserable condition of the displaced persons of 1947, at random released an amount of Rs 2,000 crores in his first inning itself for payment to the displaced persons and then deputed a Joint Parliamentary committee (JPC) to make a proper study in their cases and give report. The JPC after making a detailed study submitted its report for a package of Rs 30 lakh as its final settlement. Gurdev said that DPs suffered continuously and were victimized to such an extent that leaving aside the legitimate compensation for the left-out properties and other losses, even their micro level issues were not addressed and till today they are awaiting their rehabilitation. He made a humble appeal to Home Minister Amit Shah to once again show their strong will to decide for a protected relief of Rs 30 lakhs each DP family alongwith other component including 8 assembly seats as recommended by JPC and further provisions to be made to safeguard the interest and aspiration of DPs as per article 371, 371-A, 371-H, and 371-J to bring them back in the mainstream. Prominent among others who spoke include Netar Parkash, Bhumi Nath, Tilak Raj, Natha Singh, Sub. Kuldeep Singh and Srapanch Om Parkash.
