STATE TIMES NEWS R S PURA: Senior members of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) on Wednesday appealed to State BJP leadership to stress upon the Governor to issue advisory to the concerned Advisor to prepare a comprehensive proposal for final settlement of DPs as per the JPC report for further submission to central BJP government which has the full mandate. The demand was raised in a meeting held at Railway Patri, R.S. Pura presided over by Gurdev Singh, President. The participants also discussed about the latest status of disbursement of Rs 2000 crore package besides other issues, particularly mutation of land under dwelling in different DP colonies, compensation in lieu of deficient land, inclusion of DPs families in the package residing in state having outside registration and consideration of DPs for relief having supplementary records. The meeting urged the concerned Advisor to resolve the aforesaid issues. Gurdev Singh said that JKSAC is a historical organization of DPs and is consistently seeking the full and final rehabilitation of DPs for the last 52 years as it is the constitutional responsibility of both the state and central governments. He said that JKSAC is seized of all the issues concerning their final rehabilitation and is committed not to take rest until and unless the same are resolved as per the legitimate aspirations of DPs.
