JAMMU: General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association (JKOA), Dr Ashutosh Sharma called on the Union Minister for Sports, Vijay Goel at latter’s residence in New Delhi.
During interaction with the minister, Dr Sharma highlighted the ongoing corrupt practices by the autonomous sport body of J and K State Sports Council (JKSSC), especially with regard to Khelo India initiative of the Government of India.
The JKOA Secretary also put forth demand for an independent synthetic athletics track in Jammu.
In the meantime, the JKOA extended an invitation to the Union Sports Minister to be Chief Guest in the proposed award distribution function, a handout issued by the JKOA informed.
The minister, who gave a patient hearing to the
visiting secretary was kind enough to give a
positive response, the handout added.
