STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) Jammu has decided to observe on hunger strike July 22 and 23 in support of their demands. Briefing media persons here on Friday, JKMEF President Sushil Sudan said that around 1,000 paramedical employees including staff nurses, Female/Male Multipurpose Health Worker/Anesthesia Technicians/Assistant, Operation Theatre Tech and Assistants, Medical Lab Tech and assistant X-Ray Ct and MRI tech, who are working on academic arrangement basis under provisions of SROs 384/409 at GMC Jammu/Srinagar and Associated hospitals for the last 10 years. The federation has approached the concerned higher authorities many times regarding their demands but nothing has been done, he said. Sudan appealed to all the employees working on academic arrangement to assemble basis at Government Medical College, Jammu /Srinagar to lodge a strong protest on July 22 and 23 for redressal of their genuine demands including their regularization. Among those who were present include Shabir Ahmed Langoo, Janak Raj, Gourab Sharma, Rajiv Chopra, Mahtama, Subash, Kahild Rizwan, Manish, Roshy Dubey, Parveen Kumar, Veerta, Sonika, Sujata, Sapna, Rekha and Renu.
