STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Taking serious concern of some assault cases reported few days back, wherein Accounts employees were attacked by some miscreants, the J&K Accounts Employees Association (JKAEA) Jammu province, led by its President, Kamal Singh Pathania demanded immediate action against culprits at the earliest. While addressing a meeting of Accounts employees here on Saturday, J&K Accounts Employees Association invited attention of authorities towards plight of Accounts personnel, who perform their duties in various Departments without any security. Being law abiding employees of Accounts and Treasuries Department, the Accounts employees working in various departments for implementation of financial discipline with letter and spirit, often face a lot of hardships while complying instructions / orders issued by the Department from time to time, he added. “One Deepak Sharma, Assistant Accounts Officer working in PHE City Div-I Jammu was manhandled on April 9, 2019 by a daily-rated worker of the same office. The AAO has also lodged a FIR at Police Station, B C Road, Bus stand Jammu in this regard. Later, a committee was constituted by the Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu vide his office letter No PHEJ/CE/461-65, dated 10-04-2019 to probe the matter with directions to submit report within a weeks’ time positively. Almost one month has lapsed, but neither the committee has submitted its report nor any kind of disciplinary action has been initiated against the culprit,” asserted Pathania. In another incident, an Additional Treasury Officer was manhandled and threatened by contractors at the District Treasury Office Doda on 16th May, 2019 for processing their bills without fulfilling codal obligations and formalities, he added. The J&K Accounts Employees Association Jammu urged the concerned authorities to take stern action against culprits in both the cases to avoid occurrence of such untoward incidents, failing which the association would be forced to adopt the path of agitation. Others present in the meeting included Adarsh Sharma, Shiv Paul Singh, Sanjay Pandoh, Mehboob Chowdhary, Rakesh Sharma, Rakesh Kashyap, Brij Bushan Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Kulbir Singh and Tajinder Paul Singh.
