JAMMU: J and K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages on Sunday organised a musical concert ‘Swaranjali’ by female singers marking International Women’s Day at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
On the occasion, Zafar Iqbal Manhas, MLC and Vice President, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was the Chief Guest while Rewa Kumari, Special Secretary to Government, Department of Culture was the Special Guest. While speaking on the occasion, Manhas complimented on the eve of International Women’s Day and appreciated all the participating female artists and singers for their scintillating performances. He stressed that respect and protection of women symbolises the healthy and progressive society of the particular area. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Cultural Academy also spoke on the occasion.
Those who sung include Kailash Mehra, Deepali Wattal, Sonali Dogra, Vanshika Jaral, Anjusha Sharma, Chinmay Sharma, Kusha Sharma and Sargam Sharma. The musicians were Sunil Sharma (Synth), Kamal Sharma (Dholk), Ravi Sharma, (Harmonium), Vijay Anand (Tabla), Rakesh Anand (Flute), Amarjeet Singh (Violin) and Jagmeet Singh (Guitar). Bindiya Tikoo, announcer conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Vote of thanks was presented by Bishan Dass, Assistant Cultural Officer.
