JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organised traditional Dogri music programme at Gujroo Nagrota.
A.K Arora, Patron, Bal Bhawan, Jammu was the Chief Guest and Inderjeet Kesar, an eminent writer presided over the programme.
While delivering his presidential address, Inderjeet Kesar said that organising activities related with regional folk of the Jammu province and approaching to the rural and remote areas is the real service for the promotion and development of language, literature and culture of the respective areas.
Appreciating the performances of local folk artists, he said that Dogra region has rich cultural heritage depicting the diverse image of the State.
The participants who performed in today’s programme were-Om Basotra and Party (Geetru), Mushtaw Ahmad and Party (Geetru), Kishori Lal Gupta (solo performance) and Rekha (solo performance).
Among others present were Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Dinesh Kumar Khajuria, Gujinder Gupta, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Dr. Vijay Gupta and Kuldeep Abrol.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Rattan Basotra, Assistant Editor, JKAACL.
