STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The Principal of JK Public School, Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah said that the biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis but the feeling of being unwanted. Leprosy was once called the ‘Separating Sickness” for the way in which it separated family. It is our duty to make the ailing person psychologically strong to cope up with the disease. Anju Jamwal, the Incharge of the event spread the awareness about damages caused by leprosy-the contagious disease and its treatment. Jakians enacted a play highlighting that image of leprosy has to be changed at the global, national and local levels to build a new environment in which patients of leprosy will not hesitate to come forward for diagnosis and treatment of leprosy also known as “Hansen’s Disease”. Ipshita Vairavi anchored the show and highlighted that leprosy is a curable disease.
