STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: To mark the birthday celebration of Guru Nanak Dev, JK Public School, Kunjwani, on Monday celebrated Gurpurab with great fervour and excitement.
A special assembly was organised on this great occasion. Students apprised the audience about the principles and teachings of the pious soul, Guru Nanak Dev, i.e. ‘One God’ and the ‘Eternal Truth’. They also shared the information about life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev and were inspired to lead a life like him.
A serene and calm atmosphere was created by the soothing ‘Shabad’ sung by the budding singers and teacher of the school. The celebration proclaimed that the essence of religion is engaging man to constantly remember the divine at all times and at all places.
Along with the Prakash Utsav, Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India, who served from August 15, 1947 until February 2, 1958, was also celebrated as National Education Day.
Shashi Rattan, Vice Principal, JKPS Kunjwani, appraised the students and teachers about the contributions of this great personality in the field of education.
Director, Shashi Chaudhary appreciated the efforts put in by the children and teachers and gave the message of universal brotherhood and equality at all. The programme concluded on a happy note with festive spirit and unbeatable excitement amongst the students.
