STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Language is the only way through which one can express their mind, thoughts and feelings and understand ones’ feelings to communicate with the community. To commemorate the day India adopted Hindi as its official language, JK Public School, Kunjwani on Wednesday celebrated ‘Hindi Diwas’ with great enthusiasm and fervour. A variety of activities were organised that stressed the significance of the national language. Students took part in various Literary Activities to mark the day. To highlight the importance of Hindi as ‘Matrbhasha’ students conducted a poetry session. Calligraphy and essay writing competitions were carried out during the Hindi Diwas wherein students showcased their talent and creative skills. Students of Class VI showed their creativity through masterstrokes in Calligraphy whereas students of class VII recited poems in Hindi to highlight the theme for the day. Class VII students took part in Essay Writing Competition on the Topic ‘Importance of Hindi Language’ and also wrote on the ability of the language to bind the nation. They threw light on the contribution of great litterateurs like Munshi Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, Bhartendu Harishchandra and others and dwelt on the impact and relevance of Hindi in today’s times. Hindi Divas is observed on September 14 after the constituent assembly proclaimed Hindi as the national language in 1949.
