JAMMU: Celebrating multifarious cultures and festivals symbolises the unity of an international community, which JK Public School, Kunjwani takes pride in. To maintain brotherhood, peace and love, celebration of holy festival Eid-UL-Azha was held at JK Public School Kunjwani.
A special assembly was organised in the campus to convey the significance of this pious festival to the students. Children and staff came dressed to school in the Eid clothes and looked amazing. The school and stage were creatively decorated. Children put up colourful dance show and captured the audience with ‘Sufi songs’. The programme started with devotional Qawali ‘Khwaja Mere Khwaja” performed by the senior students.
Their soulful singing filled the atmosphere with peace and spirituality. After the programme, sweets and gifts were exchanged by the students and staff.
The objective of this celebration was to pay homage to the Prophet Mohammad for his greatest and divine services to the mankind and spread lesson of brotherhood, peace and prosperity among the students, irrespective of their caste or religion.
On this eve, Principal of the School, S.K Singh spoke briefly about the importance and celebration of Eid. He said celebration of Eid is an endeavour to inculcate in the children the true spirit of religious tolerance and secularism. He encouraged children to follow the path of peace, love and friendship.
Singh extended heartiest greetings ‘Eid Mubarak’ to the staff, students and their families. The programme culminated with National Anthem.
