JAMMU: J&K Grameen Bank claimed to have settled the death claim under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) within minimum time.
Pertinent to mention that Micro Finance & Financial Inclusion Department of J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural is conducting a state wide campaign regarding social security schemes including PMSBY and PMJJBY wherein the people are insured at a nominal premium of Rs 12 and Rs 330 respectively.
J&K Grameen Bank handed over a claim of Rs 2 lakh under PMJJBY to a beneficiary at a programme held here. The claim was reported on June 7, 2018 and settled through the bank on June 16, 2018. The dependents of the deceased thus got financial help of Rs 2 lakh within a short period.
On the occasion, Chairman JKGB, Janak Raj Angural was the Chief Guest, who handed over the claim amount of Rs 2 lakh under PMJJBY to the nominee of the Insurer Deepak Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department threw light on the benefits of social security schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Surakhsha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). He informed that the bank is leading in the whole state under social security schemes with enrolments of about 75000.
Regional Manager Jammu, K.L Sharma also spoke on the occasion. Mahmood Ahmed, Branch Head Brij Nagar presented vote of thanks.
