State Times News POONCH: A day after Pak army pounded several civilian areas of Nowshera sector of Rajouri, another Indian soldier was martyred in a sniper firing incident on late Tuesday evening at Damu Post in BG sector of Poonch. According to official sources, ” Sepoy Ravinder Singh (Belt No 251239H) deployed at Damu Post was hit by a sniper fire from Pakistan’s Jhanda post.” Defence PRO in Jammu Lt Col Munish Mehta told a Delhi based news agency late in the evening, one jawan has lost his life in the accidental firing in BG sector of Poonch. Another Indian soldier was killed in accidental firing in Mendhar area of Poonch late Monday night. The deceased soldier was hit on his right shoulder while stepping out of the bunker along with his fellow soldier Sepoy Kundan Singh. The jawans were directed for ‘stand to’ by the post commander Sub Balam Singh. Singh was alerted by Sepoy Deepak Singh after he had noticed some suspicious movement near his post around 9.50 p.m. The deceased jawan was identified as Sepoy Manmohan Budhani. The bullet injury had penetrated his lungs and vital organs and was declared dead by the Regimental Medical officer Captain Gyanesh Rathor deployed at Balnoi base. FIR has been lodged with the Mendhar police station to carry out detailed investigation in the case.
