BHADARWAH: Like other parts of the State, ‘Krishna Janamashtami’ was celebrated traditionally with religious fervour and enthusiasm across Chenab region amid tight security arrangements by the respective administrations on Monday.
At Bhadarwah, several ‘Jhankis’ of Lord Krishna in a fully decorated chariot by the devotees were taken out from famous Vasuki Nag Temple Gatha, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, beside Shankhoja, Mathola, Bheja, Manthla, Haliyan, Dalain, Thubba and Lagsaroo areas of Bhadarwah to celebrate this auspicious day of Janmashtami.
The Jhankis started with traditional Pooja Archana of Lord Krishna by religious scholars in their respective Temples. Muslim community also greeted their Hindu brotherens on the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.
Hundreds of devotees including prominent citizens and leaders of various political parties and social organisations participated in the procession(Jhanki) which passed through Gatha, Udrana, Radio Station, Kotli, New Bus Stand, Seri Bazaar, Ganpat Bazaar, Jaie Road and culminated at their respective temples.
The people en-route showered flowers from the rooftops on the Jhankis and paid obeisance to Lord Krishna to seek his blessings.
The devotees also danced on the beat of drums and recited Bhajans and Kirtans in praise of Lord Krishna.
The security arrangements were made by the local administration for the smooth conduct of this auspicious event.
Meanwhile Prajapati Brahma Kumaris Ashwariya Vishva Vidyalaya Udrana Bhadarwah also celebrated this day with great enthusiasm and also took out a Jhanki of Lord Krishna in a fully decorated chariot.
According to reports similar Jhankis were also taken out from Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Drabshalla, Batote, Assar, Bagger, Kheleni, Seri, Bhalla, Kulhand and other areas of Chenab Valley to celebrate the auspicious day of Krishna Janmashtami.
RAJOURI: On auspicious festival of Janmashtami, Senior BJP Leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta participated in several religious processions to mark the celebration of Shri Krishan Janam. Massive processions were organised at Rajouri city, Jawharnagar and Dhangri under the banner of Shri Sanathan Dharam Sabha. Devotees celebrated Janmashtami with full zeal and enthusiasm. The songs were sung by devotees in respect and praise of Shri Krishan were mesmerising.
RAMBAN: An impressive ‘Shoba Yatra’ was also taken out on the occasion of Krishna Janamashtami in Ramban and Batote.
In Ramban, Shobha Yatra started from Raghu Nath Temple Ramban which after passing through various markets culminated at Raghunath Temple. Before the Shobha Yatra, Pooja was performed by number of devotees who participated in the Pooja. ASP Ramban, Sanjay Parihar besides officers from civil administration accompanied the Shobha Yatra.
Meanwhile impressive Jhankis were displayed by various temple committees and religious organisations in which large number of devotees participated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour. They were chanting religious hymns and singing Bhajans. The people in different bazaars had erected welcome gates to greet the Shoba Yatra.
SAMBA: Krishan Janmashtami was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at various temples of Samba including Dangeshwar Temple, Kali Mata Temple, Narsingh Temple. The main function was held at Narsing Temple Ghagwal, where heavy rush of the devotees was witnessed. Children were dressed in colourful attires as Krishna and Radha.
UDHAMPUR: Krishna Janamashtmi was celebrated at different places in Udhampur with great gaiety. On this occasion number of social groups and local people set up various stalls of special eatables and cold drinks for the people.
Stalls were set up at Domail Chowk, Slathia Chowk, near Distt. Hospital, Sallian Talab, Gole Market, Chabutra Bazaar, Shiv Nagar and its outskirts locality with great deal and eatables, cold water and sweets were served to the people. Late evening traditional Puja was performed at various temples till mid night. At some places Krishan Raas Leela was organised which enthralled the devotees much.
NOWSHERA: Krishna Janamashtami was celebrated in Nowshera and adjoining areas with great enthusiasm and religious fervour.
On this occasion an impressive Shobha Yatra was taken out from the historical Raghunath Mandir amid beating of drums and traditional Nagaras under the arrangements of Sanatan Dharam Sabha Nowshera. The participants chanted Bhajan Kirtan and raised religious slogans. The Jhanki passed through Patel Chowk, Main Bus Stand, Jhangar Chowk, and then finally culminated in Raghunath Mandir.
During this Shobha Yatra Sant Subhash Shastri Ji delivered lecture giving the quotes from Shrimad Bhagwat Gita and said that when the crime and injustice increases, God sends his Avtars to fight against the tyrants. He said that Bhagwan Krishan from His very childhood fought against the evil forces and protected the people.
