STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Members of Jammu Runners Group felicitated those top runners of the city, who participated in an online running challenge ‘100 days of running 2019’ in a function at University of Jammu (JU) grounds, here on Sunday. A total of 60 runners from Jammu participated in this unique physical challenge. Samvit Sharma topped the Jammu running challenge with 2,760 kilometers of running to his credit. He was followed by Amarjeet Singh Jeetu with 2502 kilometers and Abhishek Gupta 2409 kilometers. Similarly, among women participants, Dr Anju Jain topped with 722 kilometers, followed by Shipra Aggarwal with 562 kilometers and Anju Choudhary with 486 kilometers. Young Bheesham Gupta (722 Kms) emerged topper among those teenagers taking part in this challenge. Bheesham was overall third in his category of male teenage runners and has secured his place in overall leaders’ board in the challenge. The 100 days of running is an online running challenge wherein runners across the globe participate and make an effort to run a minimum of two kilometres per day for 100 days without missing a day. This year was its fifth edition in which more than 11,000 runners from 23 countries took part from April 27 and August 4, 2019. The toppers were felicitated by senior runners of the State including Prabhat Singh, Rajesh Padha, Surinder Choudhary (DySP), Sham Suri, Dr. Dilawar Khan, Pawan Sharma and Kanupriya Garg.
