Repeal of Article 370 is gaining wide-spread approval of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, cutting religious and regional affiliation. The sentiment is overwhelming in the Muslim community in the Jammu region, who are celebrating the landmark decision taken by the Centre thus shutting the mouths of all those trying to polarize the people.
Maroof Majid Malik, a resident of Kishtwar, presently residing in Jammu, said that with abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, youth will get new job opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir and people would get their rights at par with rest of the country. He resented that the successive governments did nothing for the welfare of people in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that the politicians of J&K looted the wealth of the then State and assailed them for creating a sense of panic. He held these leaders responsible for present situation in the Valley. He said that the graph of unemployment has increased manifold. “We will extend full support to Modi Government for every initiative taken for development of Jammu and Kashmir,” Malik assured.
Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Narwal Bala, also welcomed scrapping of Articles 370 and 35A and saluted the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for his political-will to take such a bold and courageous decision for ending the discriminatory laws of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. “Article 370 was not only ill-conceived but very much against the basic principles of the constitution itself, which provides equal rights to all people in the country,” he said, adding that Article 370 was the biggest blunder and mistake of the past, which has been corrected now after 70 years by Modi Government. He said that today entire India is rejoicing the moment, as Jammu and Kashmir will also move ahead on path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He asked people of Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate the scrapping of aforesaid Articles and maintain communal harmony and brotherhood at all costs.
Tassaduk Hussain, a resident of Jammu, said that repealing of Articles 370 and 35A is like a dream come true for people of Jammu and Kashmir, who have been deprived of their rights for over seven decades and subjected to humiliation and deprivation. He hoped that the significant decision taken by Union Government will open new horizons for the younger generations, which were mere dream for them earlier. He asserted that the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir got freedom from politics of so-called Kashmiri politicians. He said that dynasty rule of Abdullahs and Muftis betrayed people of J&K since Independence. He said that entire community is hopeful that now various multi-national companies will establish their offices in Jammu, thus providing a number of employment avenues to youth in the region. He said that the successive governments failed in combating the menace of corruption and unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir. He thanked BJP Government for the bold and revolutionary decision, that would open gates of development and progress for people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Choudhary Haroon, a resident of Bathindi, welcomed abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A from Jammu & Kashmir, saying after 73 years of Independence, people of Jammu region have got real freedom and the credit for this goes to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah. He further said that the Kashmir-centric politicians, whether Farooq Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mehbooba Mufti or Omar Abdullah, all have misguided the people of Jammu & Kashmir just for vote bank politics. He said that the Muslims of J&K wholeheartedly welcome the scrapping of these controversial statutes, claiming that if crores of Muslims reside in other parts of the country peacefully why the politicians of Kashmir Valley are misguiding people of J&K. He said that no Muslim living in J&K will be affected due to removal of Articles 370 and 35A. He asked people of J&K to support BJP-led Government at the Centre for overall development.
Nasreen Tasaduk, a student living in Narwal Bala, said that the youth of J&K suffered a lot due to anti-youth policies of previous governments. She said that the lifting of Articles 370 and 35A was the need of hour, as it was just like a wall in front of various job opportunities. She said that various multinational-companies will now establish their enterprises in Jammu and Kashmir, thereby directly benefitting the youth. She added that now, youth need not leave their homes, parents just for their livelihood. Earlier, there was no future for youth in J&K but after scrapping of Article 370, they are now empowered and feeling elated, she asserted. “The scrapping of Articles 370 and 35A will also bring daughters of Jammu and Kashmir at par with other women of the country as it has also rendered the discriminatory provision defunct, which used to deny them property rights in case of marriage with anyone living outside the State,” she added.
