STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: People of Jakhani led by Syed Peer Gulzar Shah on Monday held a protest against PHE Department, here amidst slogans raising issue of irregular supply of drinking water in the area. Speaking on the occasion, 90-year-old woman, Jaat Noori said, “For the last seven days PHE Department has failed to supply drinking water reasons best known to the authorities concerned.” She said that people are very feeling dejected because they have to bring drinking water from natural sources about six kilometers away from their village. Shah expressed that this village of Jakhani area comprises backward classs communities and has been totally ignored by the administration. He said for the last seven days PHE Department has stopped the drinking water supply. “Despite continuous requests concerned department officials have not made any alternative arrangements for this ignored area of Jakhani,” he said.
