STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: A large number of residents of Jakhani and its adjoining areas staged protest against the authorities of National Highway Authority of India on Jakhani Chowk near Police Naka National Highway near Udhampur under the joint leadership of Govind and Syed Peer Gulzar Shah. Protesters raised slogans against National Highway Authority of India for their dictatorial attitude. While addressing the gathering Govind disclosed that four lane National Highway is passing through from their village Jakhani and from Jakhani Chowk a link road is going towards more than 24 villages like Omala, Jakhani, Sharda, Laddan, Ossu, Kerra, Kaldi, Salmaya, Powar House, Ghordi and Barmeen but it is unfortunate authorities of NHAI have block this link road from Jakhani Chowk and opened the road about 3KM away from existing link at Ambedekar Chowk resulting more than 10 thousand people of adjoining areas are inconvenient during odd period. Govind further disclosed that they have brought this issue into the notice of District Administration for appropriate and necessary action. He further said that District Administration assured the people for favorable action but authorities of NHAI have closed link road from Jakhani Chowk and through it from Ambedekar Chowk. Syed Peer Gulzar, Maya Devi, Hussan Jaan, Poli Devi, Jattun Begum, Naseema Begum, Ved Parkash, Kuldeep Kumar, Mohin Johan, Latif Shah and Panch Rajkumari were prominent among others present in the demonstration.
