JAMMU: In the backdrop of voices raised by nationalist forces against settlement of illegal foreigners-Rohingyas, Jammu and Kashmir Government today initiated process of preparing a list of such elements.
“Four members committee comprising two cabinet rank ministers from PDP and BJP are tasked to collect data of foreign elements illegally settled in Jammu,” sources said.
They said that from BJP Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh with health Minister Bali Bhagat and from PDP Rural Development Minister Abdul Haq Khan and Civil Supplies and Public Distribution Minister Choudhary Zulfikar Minister, have been made responsible of colleting date of number of foreign nationals (Rohingyas, Bangladeshis, Burmese) settled here.
“A detailed meeting was held today between the PDP-BJP ministers on the issue and process has been initiated for further course of action,” Bali Bhagat said.
As per sources around 5743 Burmese families and 5,700 Rohingya families are residing in the State at various places in the districts of Jammu and Samba.
