STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: International School Rajouri in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority Rajouri (DLSA) celebrated the World Human Rights Day in School premises. Symposium was held for the students of the senior classes who strongly presented their views on the Human Rights. This day has been celebrated since the day the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. Chief Guest on the occasion, Sh. Mayank Gupta, Secretary District Legal Service Authority Rajouri interacted with the students and expressed confidence that by incorporating human rights as a way of life, a fundamental change can be brought about in to eradicate the scourge of poverty, ignorance, prejudices, and discrimination based on sex, caste, religion, disability and other forms, within our society. Highlighting the significance of Human Rights Day, Ashish Langer, Managing Director of the School urged all the students and staff members to take a pledge to work towards achieving a just and equitable society through upholding the principles and ideals enshrined in our constitution and the universal declaration of human rights for the protection and promotion of human dignity and the inviolable rights of all citizens of the country. He explained about the basic rights and freedoms which are based on dignity, fairness, equality, respect and independence as these values are defined and protected by law. Sh. Dev Raj, Principal and senior staff members appreciated the efforts of the students for their active participation on the occasion.
