JAMMU: The JK Public School (JKPS) and BSF School Paloura bagged under-14 and under-17 boys badminton titles respectively in the two-day inter-school (indoor) sports meet of Jammu District, organised by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Tuesday.
In under-14 title clash, JKPS defeated SOS 2-0: Singles: Vidhan beat Tushar. Doubles: Vidhan and Abhay defeated Tushar and Dhrub. The under-17 final was won by BSF Paloura, who again trounced SOS 2-0: Singles: Sidhant blanked Vineet. Doubles: Sidhant and Aman trounced Vineet and Ayuesh.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued by the DYSS, the indoor competitions in twin age groups of under-14 and under-17 in girls category shall take place at
MA Stadium, here from tomorrow.
CHESS: Under-17: Amanjot Singh of Army Pubic School Miran Sahib bagged the Chess title beating Keshav of Maharishi Vidya Mandir in the final.
CARROM: Under-17: In doubles final, the duo of Tanish and Rohit of Government High School Channi Himmat defeated Shubam and Tarun of Army Public School (APS) Domana. SINGLES: The singles title went to Manmohit Singh of BSF School Paloura, who defeated Aditya Kumar of APS Domana. Under-14: In Carrom, Aqib Mushtaq and Preet Singh of APS Sunjwan outplayed Vishwas and Akshay of SOS in doubles final.
TABLE TENNIS: The under-14 boys event was won by Jodhamal Public School beating KC Public School 3-1. The under-17 final was clinched by KC Public School outplaying GD Goenka School 3-2 in the title clash.
