JAMMU: The Law School shall be playing against Department of Law in the title clash of the ongoing inter-department cricket tournament, organised by the Department of Sports, University of Jammu (JU) on the campus grounds, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played on Thursday, Law School outplayed Department of Political Science by a margin of 10 runs. Batting first, Law School set a target of 132 runs for five wickets in allotted 15 overs.
Gaurav remained top scorer with 31-ball 54 runs while Viren and Sohit contributed 32 and 18 runs respectively. For Political Science, Sweet, Shakeel and Sachin shared one wicket each.
In reply, Political Science was bundled out for 121 runs to lose the tie. Sachin and Faisal remained highest run getters with 33 and 27 runs in their respective accounts. Abhimanyu was other main scorer with 21 runs. Gaurav took three wickets, followed by Sahil and Anil two each for Law School.
In other semifinal, Department of Law defeated Department of Geology by 41 runs. Batting first, Law made 146 runs for two wickets in 12 overs game. Paras played brilliant innings of 110 runs coming off just 54 deliveries. Abhinandan contributed 24. Gaurav was lone wicket taker for Geology.
Batting second, Geology could not maintain the required run rate and completed their innings at 105 runs losing two wickets. Arjun top scored with 28-ball 43 runs while Rajesh and Ajay contributed 23 and 18 respectively.
For Law Department, Ankush and Karan shared the wickets.
