State Times News JAMMU: Based on Income Tax (IT) surveys carried out earlier in Jammu and Kashmir, several teams of Income Tax Department including one from Punjab, carried out simultaneous raids at over dozen places in Jammu, Katra and Srinagar on Thursday. Establishments including hotels, offices, factories and residential premises of prominent businessmen were raided in Jammu, Katra and Srinagar. Various localities in Jammu where the IT teams conducted raids include Gandhi Nagar, Raghunath Bazaar and Gangyal.
The raids continued till evening. Heavy contingents of security forces accompanied the IT Department teams to ensure hassle free surveys.
As per sources, various records, unaccounted cash and other vital evidences supporting undisclosed income have been seized. However, IT Department has not released any statement revealing information with regard to the recoveries and seizures made during raids.
