STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Son of a senior J&K cadre IAS officer on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Jammu police that some valuable articles have been stolen from his luggage while he was travelling in a flight from New Delhi to Jammu. As per the details, Surjeet Jain, son of Parmod Jain, IAS lodged a complaint with Satwari Police Station that after de-boarding from the flight at Jammu Airport he found some valuable articles missing from his luggage. Surjeet told police that he enquired the same from the airport authorities but got no response. He then approached the police station to lodge the complaint. Police has started investigations into the report. Surprisingly, in year 2015, a bag containing Rs 4 lakh cash, a mobile phone, jewellery and costly valuables were stolen from Pramod Jain’s car in Ludhiana. The incident had taken place when Pramod Jain, the then Cultural Secretary, J&K was returning to Jammu after visiting Delhi and stopped at a shrine of Jain community near Shivpuri Chowk. Pramod had parked his car outside the shrine. After 15 minutes, he came out with his wife, driver and security staff andleft for Jammu. When they reached near Jalandhar, the officer was shocked to find the bag missing. Jain immediately returned to Ludhiana and lodged complaint with police. According to a national newspaper’s report published in 2015, “As the windscreens of the vehicle were intact it was suspected that the car might have remained open.” “Jain was at that time reluctant to share any information. It was learnt that another car and a truck was travelling with the officer’s vehicle,” national newspaper’s report claimed in 2015.
