JAMMU: The Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) on Thursday organised an extension lecture in the campus for the students of Management Studies.
Prof. A.N Sadhu, former Dean Academics of University of Jammu was the Resource Person who delivered a lecture on the topic ‘India at 70’.
All the faculty members of Department of Management Studies were also present.
At the outset, Prof. S.K Gupta, Dean IMS welcomed Prof. Sadhu.
Prof. Sadhu discussed in detail the different phases of growth of the Indian economy right from 1947. He highlighted all the phases of growth i.e. consolidation, mixed economy, LPG and inclusive growth. He explained the features of each phase and commented that the inclusive phase has been in operation for the last three years. He mentioned that a number of new programmes have been initiated by the government and it is expected that in the days to come, in terms of economic growth, we will achieve the same. He further, discussed the process of Demonetisation, GST, Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan etc.
He made an appeal to all the students to get awakened now and do contribute for inclusive growth.
