JAMMU: Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) on Friday organised national conference on ‘Emerging Trends in Management, Economics and IT’.
Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. R.D Sharma was the Chief Guest while Prof. Alka Sharma, Director, The Business School, JU was Guest of Honour in the opening ceremony.
Prof R.D Sharma laid emphasis on the relevance of the theme thereto providing an opportunity to all the researchers, academicians and students to discuss issues on common platform.
Dr. B.B Goyal, HoD Business School, Panjab University Chandigarh, talked on ‘New age Business Drives’ and adopting a new concept of segmentation of market known as Blue Ocean Strategy. Prof. Pawnesh Abrol, Department of Computer Sciences and IT, JU apprised the participants with the Immersive Technology (Augment Reality and Virtual Reality and related aspects). He further shared that the new technology in the information sector would be extensively used in agriculture (Village Knowledge Centre) and Cloud Technology.

The valedictory function was chaired by Chief Guest, Prof. Keshav Sharma, Registrar, JU.
Prof. Kakli Majumdar, Head, Department of Economics, SMVDU, Dr. Harinder Singh from Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology, Amritsar and Sunil Gupta, Vice President, J&K Bank, Zonal Office, Jammu were Guests of Honour.
Prof. Keshav explained the latest trends in the field of Management, Economics and IT. Garima Kohli, Assistant Prof. IMS presented vote of thanks.
