BHADARWAH: Continuing with its operation against the illicit loggers to curb the increasing menace regarding smuggling of green timber, sleuths of Forest Division Bhadarwah and Forest Protection Force (FPF) seized timber worth lakhs of rupees in Chiralla Range of Bhadarwah Forest Division on Friday.
According to reports, taking strong notice of an information regarding dumping of illicit timber in Forest Division Bhadarwah, a team of Forest Control Room(FCR) Bhadarwah and saluthes of FPF J-8 Gamma Unit Doda under the supervision of DFO Bhadarwah Vivek Verma carried out a three day joint operation in compartment number 8-9 in Jaie Block of Chiralla Range and seized 340 scants/Kandels having 1481.00 Cft of illicit timber dumped at different places in maize fields reportedly for smuggling.
“The seized timber which was perhaps extracted from green cedar/Kail 2-3 years back was dumped by the culprits at different places. The illicit timber has been seized and a case has been registered in relevant forest sections to initiate necessary action under rules beside detailed inquiry stands ordered and delinquent staff will be taken to task if found involved, “DFO added.
