JAMMU: To mark oral health month-2017, Colgate India began a two-day dental check-up camp at Best Price Store, here on Saturday.
More than 160 visitors were examined on the first day of the camp and free samples of Colgate toothpastes, toothbrushes, Plax mouthwash, pain out ointment were distributed. Dr. Gautam Sharma, Ex-President Indian Dental Association (IDA) Jammu along with Dr. Aamir Shamas Malik, Sr. Periodontist, conducted the oral health check-up, demonstrated the proper brushing technique and advised general public to avoid sweet sticky foods, candies, chocolates and soft drinks which are the main cause of cavities and periodontal problems. Dr. Gautam warned the visitors against the dangerous effects of smoking and chewable tobacco.
Dr. Aamir advised that most of the dental and periodontal problems can be avoided if tooth brushing is done twice daily along with mouthwash and dental flossing for cleaning inter-dental spaces. Sandeep Sharma, Manager HR, Best Price Jammu made the arrangements for the camp. Sumeet Gandotra, Oral Care Consultant Colgate India, was also present.
Dr. Gautam also informed that IDA is ready to organise dental camps free of cost during the oral health month in educational institutions, industries, residential societies etc, for which details are available on website.
