STATE TIMES NEWSRAJOURI: Income Tax Department organized an awareness camp-cum-seminar on ‘Timely Filing of Income Tax’ here on Thursday. The camp was organised on the directions of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu, in which businessmen of Rajouri and representatives of various business associations participated. Drawing and Disbursing Officers of various departments were also present on the occasion. The seminar was presided over by S.K Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-2, Jammu along with Romesh Kumar Sharma, ITO Rajouri and M.B Raizada, ITO Samba. The speakers covered the topics of widening of tax base, timely filing of Income Tax and TDS returns along with payment of due taxes. The representatives of Beopar Mandal acknowledged the views expressed by S.K Sharma and assured the tax base will be definitely increased up to satisfaction of the department and also offered their support to spread the message of widening of tax base amongst the business class of far flung areas of Rajouri District. At the end of seminar, an interactive session was held in which queries raised by the participants were resolved. During the seminars, the department sought cooperation from the taxpayers to realize the dream of a corruption free India and also reminded the participating citizens of their invaluable role in nation building through proper and timely payment of taxes due.
