KATRA: A Vaishno Devi pilgrim from Uttar Pradesh was on Friday attacked by her husband here at Katra.
According to a report, a 33 years old woman identified as Shiv Devi wife of Vinod Kumar resident of village Urelaa district Barabanki, UP who came to pay obeisance at Maa Vaishno Devi was attacked with a sharp edged weapon by her husband in a guest house on Thursday night. After attacking her, husband locked her inside the room and fled from the spot along with the children.
On hearing her hue and cries, guest house staff unlocked her and called the police who shifted the woman to Katra Hospital from where she was further referred to GMC Hospital Jammu being critical.
Police has registered a case under FIR No. 66/2015 and launched manhunt to nab the husband of the woman. The family members of the woman were also contacted by the police who are arriving to take her home.
