BHADARWAH: Continuing its mission against the illicit loggers and to curb the increasing menance regarding smuggling of green timber, sleuths of Forest Control Room (FCR) Bhadarwah and Forest Protection Force (FPF) seized timber worth lakhs of rupees in Chiralla Range of Bhadarwah Forest Division on Tuesday.
According to reports, taking strong notice of an information regarding dumpling of illicit timber in Forest Division Bhadarwah, a team of Forest Control Room(FCR) Bhadarwah and saluthes of FPF J-8 Gamma Unit Doda under the supervision of DFO Bhadarwah Vivek Verma carried out a joint operation in compartment number 1 and 5 in Jaie block of Chiralla range and seized 309 scants/Kandels having 762.20 Cft of illicit timber dumped at different places reportedly for smuggling.
DFO Bhadarwah, Vivek Verma said that to strictly check the menace of timber smuggling nexus in this division, Forest Department and Forest Protection Force officials have deeply involved public in forest protection and its conservation.
“The seized timber which was perhaps extracted from green cedar/Kail 2-3 years back was dumped by the culprits at different places. The illicit timber has been seized and a case has been registered in relevant Forest Act sections to initiate necessary action under the Rules besides detailed inquiry stands ordered and delinquent staff also will be taken to task if found involved,”DFO added saying that we are highly thankful to public for their timely support, cooperation and information, as public support is crucial for fulfilling this aim.
