JAMMU: The students of Humanity Public School (HPS), Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana, brought laurels to the school by winning the final match of Under-17 Kabaddi Match against Star School of Intellectuals by nine points at the recently concluded Inter-School Tournaments of Zone Purmandal.
This tournament was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District – Samba, and was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Smailpur, Bari Brahmana.
The team comprising Mohan Singh (Captain), Gurbaksh, Aman Kumar, Aman Choudhary, Arun, Pushpinder, Mohin, Bhanu, Mehboob and Surjeet of H.P.S participated in under – 17yrs (Boys – Kabaddi). The team of H.P.S defeated Star School of Intellectuals, Meen Sarkar to clinch the title.
The tournament was organised under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer, Purmandal. The students of the school who participated in this tournament were received in the school premises by Gaurav Charak (Principal), Anku Charak (Vice Principal), Mahan Singh (Coach), Harish Nagyal (Coach) and Arunpreet Singh (PTI) along with the staff members. On this occasion Principal of the School said that the school management is leaving no stone unturned to promote physical education in the school for providing platform to the students to take part in different sports activities at district, state and national levels.
