KANGRA: Senior Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) leader Hari Singh Chib on Saturday honoured by Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Raja Virbhadra Singh in the function organised by Himachal Pradesh Rajput Sabha (HPRS) to celebrate 479th Birth Anniversary of Maharana Pratap at Kangra.
Raja Virbadhar Singh was the Chief Guest and Hari Singh Chib was special guest on the occasion.
Raja Virbadhar Singh honoured Hari Singh Chib by presenting shawl and memento.
Speaking on the occasion, Hari Singh stressed the need of social reforms and also to help those who are needy from other castes and religions.
Terming Maharana Pratap as a true patriot who initiated the first war of Independence, Chib said that even today he lived in our hearts because he had showed us the way to protect the motherland.
Maharana Pratap had gained respect and honour as an epitome of valour, heroism, pride, patriotism and the spirit of independence, said Chib.
Among leaders of Rajput community about 12 Congress MLAs also addressed the gathering.
