JAMMU: Justice Janak Raj Kotwal of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Jammu in his order dated 6th July, 2018 has stayed the supply of material against Purchase Order CE/PMM/P-03 s-1/2018-2019/2716-20 dated 4 June, 2018 issued by respondents.
According to the case, Government of Jammu and Kashmir through Power Development Department invited tender for the supply of 10,000 steel tubular poles in which a Delhi based firm M/S Vishal Pipes happened to be the lowest bidder.
The petitioners M/S Pir Panchal Construction and Comfy Garments both locals of the State figured as 3rd and 4th lowest bidders respectively. The counsel for the petitioners Himanshu Beotra submitted that according to the Industrial Policy of the State Government 15 per cent price preference to the local SSI units is available because their rates are higher only by 8.05 per cent and 10.91 per cent respectively.
Both the aggrieved firms moved the court against impugned order against which the High Court stayed the purchase order till next date of hearing which has been fixed as August 14, 2018.
