JAMMU: The Grand Gurmat Samagam was organised by Parvinder Singh Ragi and President Sri Guru Nanak Sewa Charitable Trust, Jammu and Kashmir in the memory of first installation of Holy Guru Granth Sahib in Golden Temple Amritsar after completion in the regime of Fifth Guru Arjan Devi Ji in 1604.
The First Parkash Utsav was celebrated at Gurudwara Digiana Ashram Jammu with zeal and enthusiasm in which thousands of devotees participated in the religious congregation.
Many famous Ragis who recited the Shabad Kirtan included Bhai Harjinder Singh Ragi Srinagar Wale, Bhai Mehtab Singh Ragi Jallandher Wale, Bhai Gurpreet Singh Ragi, Bhai Harpreet Singh Ragi, Bhai Balbir Singh Ragi and Bhai Bachan Singh Pardesi.
The function was organised under the directions of Mahant Manjit Singh of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch who is on one month religious tour of Australia at Sidney on being invited by the Sikh Sangat to preach the Sikhism in Australia.
The religious function was organised with active cooperation of various Sikh organisation of J and K to included Sikh United Front, Shiromani Akali Dal, Bhai Kanahya Ji Nishkam Sewa Society, AISSF, Sikh Welfare Society, Sikh Naujawan Sabha and members of DGPC Jammu.
Among those who were present included Sudershan Singh Wazir, Dayal Singh Wazir, Mohinder Singh, Darbinder Singh, Gajan Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Rajinder Singh, Paramjeet Singh Raina Ex-Corporator, Fateh Singh, Surinder Singh Kala, Ramnik Singh, Raja Singh, Manmohan Singh, Tej Pal Singh, Aya Singh, Jagjit Singh Ahnoor, Kulwant Singh and Kuldeep Singh Malik.
