STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: A Gurmat Samagam was organised by Sant Pura Dana Charitable Trust here at Gurdwara Sri Guru Arjun Dev, Domana in the memory of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Dana, under the patronage of Sant Tejwant Singh, Dera Mukhi, Sant Pura Danna. The programme was organised with the cooperation of Joginder Singh Bali and Updesh Kour Bali (from Hong Kong), Baldev Singh, CEO Peaks Auto Ltd. and T.S Wazir, Ex MLC and Chairman J&K Gurdwara Prabandhak Board. At the outset, the Sangat condemned the Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF personnel attained martyrdom. Raman Bhalla and Ajay Sadhotra Ex-ministers and T.S Wazir threw light on the life and achievements of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Dana. Charanjit Singh Khalsa BJP MLC, Surjit Singh Ex-member DGPC, Fateh Singh Member DGPC, Surinder Singh Advocate also addressed the Sangat. Baldev Singh, CEO Peaks Auto Ltd briefed the Sangat about the mission and vision of Sant Gurbaksh Singh and the achievements of SGSD International School, established in his name, in a short span of two years only. The students of SGSD International School recited Shabad Kirtan and also paid homage to Sant Gurbaksh Singh Ji Danna. Ragi Jathas of Bhai Ravinder Singh, Bhai Amarpreet Singh, Bhai Jagir Singh and Bhai Parvinder Singh recited Shabad Kirtan. Giani Bachiter Singh Head Granthi Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib also appreciated the role of Sant Gurbaksh Singh. He said that Sant Gurbaksh Singh dedicated his life for the service of mankind. While reciting Gurbani he said that teachings and principles of the tenth Guru are more relevant today and can be helpful in bringing peace across the world. Balvinder Singh President Sikh Progressive Front while addressing the Sangat criticised the central Government for providing jobs under Prime Minister employment packages to unemployed non migrant Kashmiri Pandits only vide SRO No 425 but not to the non migrant unemployed Kashmiri Sikh youths, which is a great injustice to the Sikh Community. He also urged upon the government to pay adequate compensation to the victims of 1989 anti Sikh riots and pay 100 per cent compensation for the damages of their properties. Despite restrained movement, thousands of devotees reached the venue to pay homage to Sant Gurbaksh Singh and seek the blessings of Almighty. Majit Singh, Member Managing Committee co-ordinated the stage. Rajinder Singh Wazir, Amarjit Singh, Ravinder Pal Kour, Principal Pankaj Pathania, Balvinder Kour staff members and other members of Management Committee of SGSD International School were also present.
