POONCH : Guru Ram Dass Sewa Society organised its Ninth Annual Gurmat Samagam dedicated to 550th Birth Anniversary of First Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch under the aegis of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji.
A three day long programme was held with the commencement of Sri Akhand Path on 21st September, 2018. After its accomplishment in the morning, Gurbani Kirtan and Katha Vichar commenced at 10:00 AM which continued up to 4:00 PM. Raagi Jathas including Bhai Harjot Singh Zakhmi from Jalandhar, Bhai Sarbjit Singh Noorpuri, Bhai Gurvinder Singh Ludhiana, Bhai Arvinder Singh Amritsar, Bhai Sukhwinderpal Singh Jammu, Bhai Ranjit Singh Digiana Ashram Jammu, Bhai Bhopinder Singh Nagali Sahib, Bhai Sartaj Singh and Bhai Jasvir Singh from Poonch recited Kirtan and Giani Nishan Singh Granthi of Gurdwara Baba Budha Ji Amritsar delivered the religious discourses and Vichar.
In the end Mahant Manjit Singh Ji asked the Sangat to strictly follow the teachings of Sikh Gurus like Simran, Sewa, Haq-di-Kamai and saving Daswand. He asked the parents to teach Punjabi and speak Punjabi with their children. He also urged the youth to keep themselves away from drugs and other evils because a Sikh is known for his good character.
Prominent among those who organised the programme include President of the Society Surjit Singh, Organiser Anmol Singh, Secretary Balbir Singh and Treasurer Surinder Singh.
