STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Monday said that the Government is committed for the development of infrastructure to provide best amenities to people of the State. The Former Deputy CM was addressing people after starting up-gradation of lanes of Bhagat Pura Channi, along with Councilor Raj Kumar of ward no 51. A large number of people drawn from different sections of the society met Kavinder Gupta and projected their problems and grievances. Hari Krishan Ganjoo, Jai Krishan Koul, Chaman Lal Sharma, Subash Chander Sharma, Ramesh Koul, Jagdish Porch, Kaka Ram and officers from concerned Departments were also present on the occasion. Listing achievements of the Centre and State Government, Kavinder Gupta said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has shown keen interest for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir. With liberal funding promised by the Centre, all the approved development projects will be completed in a time bound manner in the State, he added. Referring to work started at Bhagat Pura Channi, Gupta said due to sincere efforts of Councilor Raj Kumar, the works of lanes & drain in interior areas of Channi have been approved by JMC. Every ongoing work shall be completed in time bound manner with focus on quality of work & material, he added. Later, Kavinder Gupta along with the Chief Conservator, Forests Department started a plantation drive at Canal Head under ward no 52. Kavinder appealed to the public to plant more and more tress for safeguarding future of the coming generations. Councilor of the ward, Ajay Gupta besides a number of locals and officials of Forests Department were also present on the occasion.
