JAMMU: Taking a signal from Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Jammu and Kashmir, asked Jammu and Kashmir State Coalition Government to crackdown at various petrol pumps to check fleecing of consumers.
“State Government must ensure that citizens obtain accurate and unadulterated quantities of fuel purchased by them from the petrol pumps,” emphasised SRS State President, Rajiv Mahajan in a statement issued on Friday.
He said that many consumers have alleged malpractice, poor quality or faulty measurement in many fuel stations in the Jammu region.
He asked government to take legal action against the defaulting petrol pumps.
“Government should lodge an FIR, seal petrol pumps, initiate prosecution action after they were found guilty of cheating people,” Rajiv said.
He appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and concerned minister to constitute and dispatch teams in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir for ensuring that petrol pumps are not indulging in unlawful installation of electronic chips in fuel dispensing units or any other similar means.
