Jalandhar: The 5th World Cup Kabbadi today began with a glittering ceremony as Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal inaugurated this sporting event here at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium.
The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, unfurled the ‘Kabaddi flag’, which was followed by march-past of the captains of the participating teams, led by the mascot of tournament ‘Jaanbaaz’.
The CM and Deputy CM also interacted with the captains of the participating teams on the dais.
The particpating teams in men’s section are hosts India, Pakistan, Argentina, USA, England, Canada, Australia, Iran, Denmark, Spain and Sweden while women’s meet will feature Ajerbaijan, Pakistan, Mexico, New Zealand, United States of America, England, Denmark and India would clash for the title.
