JAMMU: Government Degree College (GDC), Bani in collaboration with Department of Lifelong Learning (DLL), University of Jammu, organised remedial coaching in the college premises. The month-long coaching concluded here today under the supervision of Dr Kavita Suri, Director DLL, University of Jammu. Dr. Vivek Sharma was the Course Coordinator of the coaching. The whole event was planned and synchronized with the help of Department of Lifelong Learning University of Jammu which aimed at helping SC/ST/OBC students according their needs and abilities.
The coaching programme provided rich resource, information and knowledge to the students belonging to the far flung areas of Bani.
Prof. Kartar Chand, Principal was the Coordinator of the whole programme whose guidance helped in the completion of whole program from birth to the final stage.
Anil Kumar Verma, Assistant Professor (Education) was the Convener of the Remedial Coaching, Dr Shamsher Singh, Assistant Professor (Urdu) and Rajeev Singh, Assistant Professor (Environmental Sciences) were involved in the remedial coaching which created learning-teaching opportunities for the needy students.
It is pertinent to mention here that remedial coaching develops a cordial relationship with the students and suggests remedial measures according to their weakness. Remedial teaching is identifying slow learners and giving them the necessary guidance to help them overcome their problems, after identifying their areas of difficulties.
