STATE TIMES NEWS BARI BRAHMANA/RAMBAN/UDHAMPUR: Police on Tuesday arrested four drug peddlers and recovered contraband from their possession. Reports said that a party of Police Station Bari Brahmana while on patrolling duty in Kundanpur area intercepted a person who was moving under suspicious circumstances. During frisking of the said person, two Challis containing 50 gm Charas was recovered from his possession. The accused identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Ali Mohd Bhat, resident of Magaam Kokernag, Anantnag at present staying at Kala Gate Industrial Area Bari Brahmana was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 54/2019 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana. Ramban Police also arrested one notorious drug supplier and recovering 191 gram Charas from his possession at Gagarsulla, Gool during a Naka laid by SDPO,Gool Mohd Rafi Giri. On a tip off, a police team headed by SDPO Gool laid a surprise Naka at Gaggarsulla, Gool road and started checking every passerby. In between, one person seeing the police party tried to flee away. But the alert cops chased and overpowered him. On search of the accused Charas like substance got recovered from him. The accused identified as Mohd Iqbal son of Mohd Ubaid Shah resident of Gagarsulla Gool, District Ramban was arrested and a case vide FIR No 25/2019 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered against him and investigation entrusted to Inspt.Niaz-ul-Hassan SHO Police Sttaion Gool. The arrest and recovery has been made under the close supervision of SDPO Gool Mohd Rafi Giri, Addl SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and overall supervision of SSP Ramban Anita Sharma. Meanwhile, a police party led by SHO Udhampur Vijay Choudhary under the supervision of Addl. SP Rajinder Singh Katoch, Dy SP Rohit Chagdal laid a Naka near forest office in Udhampur and during searching of a car (HR26AN-7715) recovered 15 gms Chita from the two occupants who were identified as Niklesh, son of Anand Kumar, resident of Bus Stand, Udhampur and Vikas Thakur, son of Joginder Singh resident of Omara Morh, Udhampur. Duro were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 179/2019 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered against them. Another associate fled away from the spot by taking the advantage of traffic on road.
